Joshua 5:13-15

I.   The Difficulties Considered     [background of chapter...]
      The land was promised to Israel, still occupied by the enemy

II.   The Divine Intrusion    ...behold, there stood a man...
     Sometimes God sees fit to intrude into our plans....

III.  The Dangerous Misconception Art thou for us or for our adversaries?
         Joshua did not immediately recognize the appearance of God

IV.  The Delivering Captain    Nay; but as captain...am I now come.
        He brought His own Heavenly troops to lead into battle.  He will do it for us, too.

V.  The Desirous Question   ...What sayeth my God to his servant?
       When God is on the scene, He takes charge.  Notice both reverence & worship.

VI. The Declared Holiness      Loose thy shoe ..the place... is holy
       Acknowledge God's Holiness before going into battle.

VII. The Devoted Submission     And Joshua did so.
        The key to success and victory is to obey and submit.
